Dead Celebrities Still Making Dollars
A topic that I’ve yet to explore with this new site (among others) is how money, greed, and consumerism tie into the whole celebrity culture. And, this is a very huge and important aspect to our continuing discussion; though, my main focus will largely remain on how our American celebrity culture influences (warps) our aesthetic sense… but, of course, money is intrinsically woven into this putrid fabric.
For now, as a sort of primer, you may like to take a glimpse at the Forbes Top-Earning Dead Celebrities List. It’s some interesting stuff… like how Kurt Cobain’s dear Courtney Love is likely responsible for his tunes one day possibly being used in a Nike commercial… we’ll just have to see.
