Michael Richards Unseen Video Footage
OH, laughing out loud. Or, maybe my sense of humor is weird, but, this sort of tickles my funniest of bones. I’ve discussed Michael Richard’s hate speech on this site with a very serious analysis, but, of course, the natural compliment to intellectualism is humor: as humor is, undoubtedly, a high-level form of intelligence.
One thing that really cracks me up is when the victim (so-to-speak) flips the script on the bigot. We recently saw this with Senator George Allen who famously referred to a dark-skinned American, S.R. Sidarth, as macaca in August of this year. Macaca is a type of monkey, so, you know, it’s not a very nice thing to say to a dark-skinned fellow ….. well, soon enough, I noticed scores of web writers were referring to Senator George Allen as Macaca Allen, and, that’s just the sort of thing that cracks me up good and proper.
I love that sort of linguistic script-flip. I love using humor to spin things about, and, in the case of Senator Allen, he was spun right out of his job, and, that’s a beautiful thing. That gives me renewed hope in the future of America! Truly.
So, with that said, here’s the Michael Richards interview footage, which, obviously is a joke, and, which I find funny.
I know you’re thinking, “Katie, can’t you just paste the damn video in without the long-winded preamble.” But, you know, that’s just the sort of girl I am… oh, the ridiculousness of being an academic… but, it is fun! Here you go:
