I really do wish that the mainstream media would pay attention to this. How ironic that, not long after I wrote in my blog about the double standard in our society about racism, this happens. So of course I had to write about that, too. As a white woman married to an Asian American (Chinese) man, I feel a responsibility to my husband, my son and our unborn child to take a stand. If you poke around this site, you'll see that we are saying quite a bit about Rosie's recent behavior, the lack of media and blog attention (the blog attention has increased), publicists, racism, bigotry, etc. I don't want you to feel crazy (though, I know you meant that in a fun way) ... but, seriously, Rosie's anti-Chinese skit should be getting huge attention, and, she should offer a real apology, and, her publicist should not so glibly and insultingly write the whole thing off. I assure you ims, we are not finished with this story! We are not going to let it just disappear! The type of bigotry displayed cannot be tolerated in America in 2006. Plain and simple.
