Hi Katie,
You are a smart girl. And, I know what you’re after (I think) … you expect the answer that it’s just more objectifying crud on top of an objectifying-crud mountain (if I may…)
But, I think I know how your brain works, because, what this commercial actually does on a rather insidious fashion is further punch the white supremacist aesthetic.
Oh, that is sneaky, because, the viewer is going to first focus on the weight issue and obvious clothing differences, but, the commercial yet again reinforces the originally American white supremacist idea tangent (that has infected the whole world) that what’s beautiful is WHITE, SKINNY, WITH BLOND STRAIGHT HAIR.
