Mike Tyson Indicted
Well, I have a wide range of feelings about Mr. Tyson because I grew up with him. Well, not with him, but, it feels that way. I remember seeing Tyson square off against Mitch Green, Trevor Berbick, Pinklon Thomas, Larry Holmes, Tony Tucker, et. al.
And, Mike Tyson was sure to entertain in dramatic fashion.
It became apparent through the years that Mike had some serious problems. The whole childhood in the extraordinarily violent Brownsville section of Brooklyn; the gang membership as a very young boy with the Jolly Stompers; the depression, poverty, loneliness. I’m not a bleeding heart liberal, but, to be fair, Mr. Tyson has not had an easy life.
And, the simple, summed-up truth is that he’s a fucked-up guy. And, the public seems to love reading headlines like Mike Tyson Gets Arrested. Why?
Well, anyway, it seems Mr. Tyson has been indicted on felony drug charges.
What can you say? He’s 40 years old. His reputation has been ruined (and, he’s largely responsible for that.) And, he still, presumably has a lot of money: so, he wants to sniff a little coke. Doesn’t seem like that big of a wrong to me…
Except he was driving under the influence. He was driving! That’s where you cross the line. Do not drive while high or drunk. Plain and simple.
But, anyway, perhaps Mr. Tyson will get to meet Pamela!
