Several Auditions Before The Audition
I’m watching Larry King right now, and, Larry King has the interesting distinction of asking the most obvious and asinine questions while somehow making it sound like he’s a really clever guy. It’s quite strange, but, it’s a real talent of Mr. King.
Anyway, it’s an American Idol Larry King, and, he’s interviewing LaToya London, Ace Young, and Kelly Pickler. And, Kelly said something quite interesting that we’ve touched upon here, but, I think it’s important enough to tap it again in this context.
Kelly talked briefly about the several auditions before the audition. lol. This is the American Idol audition process. And, it’s important to remember, because the Idol program creates a real illusion. You get the feeling that Simon, Randy, and Paula are just seeing everybody fresh from right off the street.
But, that’s just not how it goes down. There are several auditions in which people other than Simon, Paula, and Randy evaluate the “talent.” So, when you see truly lousy contestants perform, please, understand this: they’ve already been seen by the show’s producers. And, they’re getting put through so we can all get a good laugh at them.
And, some of them are trying to game the system to get their 15 minutes. And, I say: we’ve all got problems in our lives, so, just laugh your ass off.
That’s what it’s all about.
