This morning I was looking at the Buzz Log, and, it’s no real surprise (is it?) that searches for Shyamali Malakar have jumped close to 1000% higher. You see, the other night she was cheering for her brother, Sanjaya, and when she sat down, her breasts flopped up and down a few times. Yes, indeed, that’s all it takes in Idiot Land (otherwise known as planet earth).

You see, idiots, women have boobs. And, the boobs will bounce when the woman moves. And, we’re all so fascinated!

I see our resident blogger idiot over here, Skippy, is quite fascinated by Shyamali’s boobs as well and her apparent Hooters past.

Sometimes I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone. But, I’m not. It’s just American Idol which interests me for a number of reasons: one of which is it so clearly exposes so much of our mass psychology. Our preoccupations with a repressed sexuality and, also, our pathological fascination with skin color (more on the racial aspect in an upcoming post.)

Even more disturbing? I see in the Buzz Log that searches have gone bonkers for this query: Sanjaya Malakar gay. And, some variants like Sanjaya Malakar queer and Sanjaya homosexual etc.

Now, I ask you is any of this necessary.

Really?

These search engines are quite revealing, as mentioned, of our cultural obsessions. And, what is it that we’re all interested in? We want to see Shyamali’s boobs flop around in a video and we want to know if her brother’s gay.

Oh, and I should also mention: searches for Haley Scarnato pictures have also increased over 1250%. Why? Because in the last episode she came out in some short shorts, and, yes, she did look smoking red hot! To me… that type of search is natural and healthy, but, folks, tits bounce and some folks are queer, and, let’s just accept that simple information and move on. ‘Kay?

Let’s pat ourselves on the back a few times.
