I notice that our society severely punishes and reprimands men who (what’s constructed as) inappropriately reveal their forbidden genital zones to the public. Furthermore, in America, (as Goffman will attest… at least conceptually) this is strongly stigmatizing.

With women, on the other hand, (and this is a trend), we don’t see such social sanctions. However, despite Elle’s happy/innocent expression, she is engaging in, arguably, blatant exhibitionism by putting herself in a location where she knows she will be photographed.

The consensual naivete of this whole thing bothers me. Exhibitionism is often considered a serious transgression. There are

college campuses where students are advised to actually call the police and report the exhibitionist. I’m sure you’ve already figured out that America has very weird attitudes when it comes to nudity, sex, nipples, babies, etc.

In fact, anything that has anything to do with sex causes a lot of Americans to have a cerebral meltdown. If you look at the current field of political hopefuls (Santorum, Perry, Bachman, Romney, et. al.) you’ll notice that these guys have a major fucking obsession with queers, abortions, babies, guns, and genitals. It’s weird to me… I’m beginning to wonder if there’s just nothing else to think about… Sexuality, though, as argued (sometimes obliquely) by Freud is a very primal force at the foundation of (what we refer to as) civilization.

So, back to Elle MacPherson. Let me provide the only reasonable speculation that one can reach… (and, not surprisingly, one that no one else seems to be discussing.) It would appear (lawyer scum notice the word appear)… it would appear that Elle MacPherson gets the typical charge—true to exhibitionist behavior—of exposing her formerly super model pussy to the all-too-eager paparazzi scum. (As a side note: between lawyers and the paparazzi, I know who’s the biggest scum… hint: it’s not the papps)…
